Southbound lanes re-open on I-294 near Hinsdale

The two southbound lanes on I-294 near Hinsdale that closed when a semi-truck caught fire earlier this evening have reopened, according to a news release from Illinois State Police. However, the westbound Ogden Avenue ramp remains closed.

The truck, which was loaded with appliances, caught fire at around 8:52 p.m., the release said, and is now engulfed in flames. The people inside the semi-truck were able to get out, and no one was injured, according to the release.

Traffic will be delayed as officials investigate the cause of the fire.
