Hotel robbed near Elk Grove Village
A Days Inn near Elk Grove Village was robbed at gunpoint Monday evening, Cook County sheriff's officials said.
The armed robbery took place at 6:45 p.m. at the hotel on the 1900 block of East Higgins Road in an unincorporated area near Elk Grove Village, said Sophia Ansari, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office.
A man, described as a black male, 6 foot, age 25 to 30 years old, showed a gun to the female employee before taking an undisclosed amount of money and leaving in a burgundy-colored SUV.
Nobody was injured, Ansari said.
