Palatine Park District accepting pet food donations through July

The Palatine Park District is collecting pet food donations through the end of July on behalf of the Palatine Township Food Pantry. Items accepted for the Food For Our 4-Legged Friends drive include dry and canned cat and dog food, cat treats and dog biscuits. Drop off donations at the Community Center, 250 E. Wood St.; Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Ave.; Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road and the Palatine Stables, 1510 W. Northwest Hwy. Donations also will be taken at the Canine Carnival, 6:30-8 p.m. July 30 at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater. Registered Canine Carnival participants who donate at the event will get an additional free raffle ticket.
