Blame Democrats for budget impasse

Democrats are responsible for Illinois budget stalemate.

Democrats submitted a budget that has spending far exceeding revenues.

Democrats could have reduced spending to the anticipated revenue level or proposed taxes to fully fund the spending or some combination of both in the budget.

Democrats, if they truly believed the budget is appropriate as submitted, should override the governor's veto since they hold enough votes in both legislative chambers to do that.

Since the Democrats did not override the governor's veto, it can only mean that members of their party do not like the budget. If this is the case, the budget should be adjusted so they can approve a budget even if the governor vetoes it.

My conclusion is the Democrats are responsible for the budget impasse and they should start governing.
