Meet Dan Hampton, Super Bowl Chicago Bear

Dan Hampton, NFL Hall of Famer and 1985 Super Bowl Chicago Bear, will visit Aurora Thursday, July 16.

Hampton will appear at a Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity home at 911 W. Galena Blvd. in Aurora from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Hampton is expected to sign autographs and pose for photos.

The future homeowner, Latricia Stone of Aurora, is expected to greet Hampton.

Stone, with her sons Yinka and Samuel, are partnering with Fox Valley Habitat volunteers and corporate sponsors to renovate the home for occupancy in December.

An anonymous donor gave the house to Habitat after it was extensively damaged by fire.

The Rev. Jeff Barrett, Fox Valley Habitat executive director, will preside Thursday. He is pastor of Genesis Community Church in Montgomery where Habitat offices are co-located.

He said Hampton's visit is designed to raise awareness for Habitat and corporate partners and to engage new and existing volunteers in Habitat for Humanity's mission - building affordable housing in partnership with low-income people in need.
