Uncork Barrington draws a thirsty crowd Friday

Uncork Barrington offered tastes of 50 wines from around the world Friday night during the annual event at the Barrington Metra station.

The event, sponsored by the Barrington Village Association to benefit local charities, also offered free appetizers from 10 local restaurants and caterers and entertainment by BK Blues.

Uncork Barrington is a prelude to Barrington Brew Fest, which runs 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the same spot. Brew Fest features 50 craft brewers and food from McGonigal's, Big Iron Horse BBQ, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Costco and Sergio's Pizza. Proceeds benefit the Barrington Council on Aging.
