No one injured in overnight Palatine apartment fire

A fire that started in the kitchen of a second-floor apartment late Thursday night was extinguished by a team effort of 23 firefighters.

According to a news release by the Palatine Fire Department, no one was injured in the blaze at 1433 E. Evergreen Drive. The apartment sustained smoke damage but an estimate of the cost of the damage was not provided in the news release.

Along with the 23 firefighters, four engines, one ladder trucks, one rescue squad and three ambulances responded to the fire which was extinguished at 11:44 p.m., around 10 minutes after the first responders arrived on the scene.
