Bail set in child porn case

A North Barrington man was ordered held on $250,000 bail after he was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, Lake County authorities said Thursday.

James M. Parsino, 50, of the 100 block of North Rainbow Road, was arrested Wednesday at his home by members of the Lake County sheriff's office. The cybercrimes units of the Lake County sheriff's office and the Lake County state's attorney's office were the lead investigators in the yearlong case.

A forensic examination of Parsino's electronic media devices revealed an extensive number of pornographic images and videos of children younger than age 13, authorities said. The case remains under investigation, and additional charges could be filed later.
