Mundelein man gets prison in tax fraud case
A Mundelein man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to sales tax fraud, state officials announced Wednesday.
Todd Antenore, 47, whose address wasn't released by authorities, was sentenced Tuesday to 30 months in state prison, according to a news release from the Illinois Department of Revenue.
He waived trial and pleaded guilty in Lake County circuit court.
Antenore tried to skip paying $186,000 in sales tax while the owner of a Shell gas station at 2113 N. Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights, Department of Revenue spokesman Terry Horstman said. His corporation was based in Wadsworth.
The crime occurred in 2010 while Antenore was on probation following a similar case in Cook County, officials said.
Antenore was arrested in the Lake County case in June 2014.
The Illinois attorney general's office prosecuted the case, after an investigation by the Department of Revenue.
