Chicago White Sox bats silent again in 2-1 loss to Jays
Another collective swing for the Chicago White Sox, another collective miss.
Before the Sox played the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday night at U.S. Cellular Field, designated hitter Adam LaRoche raved about the starting rotation.
"I can't imagine what our record would be if those guys were scuffling along with us offensively," LaRoche said. "They've no doubt done their part. It's about time we picked them up once in a while."
Jose Quintana was brilliant in his start against the Jays, pitching 8 strong innings.
But it was yet another wasted effort, as the White Sox' bats were silent in a 2-1 loss.
The Sox managed only 7 hits, and Carlos Sanchez's single in the second inning scored Gordon Beckham with the lone run.
The White Sox have scored 4 runs or less in 24 straight home games, the longest stretch in franchise history.
Quintana (4-8), who allowed 2 runs on 4 hits to go with 8 strikeouts, has made 8 quality starts in a row but is 2-3 during the streak.
