Sugar Grove swears in new trustee

New Sugar Grove Trustee Ted Koch paid tribute Tuesday to the man he has replaced.

"Bob's leadership and his contributions for so many years will always be remembered," Koch said of the late Trustee Bob Bohler.

The village board approved President Sean Michel's appointment of Koch to serve through April 2017. Michels then administered the oath of office.

Bohler died in April. He had announced his intent to resign in December when cancer made him too sick to fulfill his duties.

Koch was one of eight people who applied for the position; he also has served on the village's police pension board. Koch is a business banker, and he has lived in Sugar Grove for 10 years. His family attended the meeting, including his wife, Beth; son Edmund, a seventh-grader at Kaneland Harter Middle School; daughter Belle, a fourth-grader at Kaneland John Shields Elementary; and his father, Don.
