Huntley man charged with striking patron at Rosemont bar
A Huntley man is accused of knocking another man unconscious following an argument early Sunday at Adobe Gilas, a Rosemont bar and restaurant.
Martin Romero, 29, was charged with aggravated battery and ordered held on $50,000 bail Tuesday by Cook County Judge Joseph Cataldo.
The man who was struck told prosecutors he thought Romero was acting inappropriately toward a woman who turned out to be Romero's wife, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney David Shin.
After the man began talking to the woman, Romero first threw him to the ground then threw a beer bottle, which struck the man in the face, Shin said.
Romero received supervision in 2010 for disorderly conduct in Kane County, Shin said. He also has violations for misdemeanor battery in 2008 and 2004.
He next appears in court on July 27.
