Day with the Dogs to raise funds for local shelters July 12

Submitted by the Animal Hospital of Lake Villa

Every year the Animal Hospital of Lake Villa puts together a huge "Day with the Dogs" fundraising event to benefit local animal shelters. The event features rescues, demonstrations, performances, face painting, caricatures, raffles, music, games, food, pictures, psychic readings, and more. Originally, this year's event was supposed to happen on Saturday, May 30, but got completely rained out.

The event has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at Loffredo Park, 485 N. Milwaukee Ave., Lake Villa. All vendors and volunteers have confirmed the reschedule date.

Peace, Paws, and Harmony will be there giving out $5 nail trims for dogs. Music will be provided by 98.3 WRLR. Shag Bark will be at the event offering training advice and playing dog-themed baggo. Optimum Carpet Care will also be at the event providing full car carpet cleanings for $75 and car carpet cleanings for $25. All proceeds from these vendors and sponsors will benefit local animal shelters. The event is Luau themed so attendees are invited to wear Hawaiian shirts and hula skirts. Entry is free.
