Bandits shut out in Akron

AKRON, Ohio - Following an hour delay due to rain at Firestone Stadium, the Bandits and Racers hit the field for the first outing of their three-game set.

Second-year pitcher Tatum Edwards got the start for Chicago, facing off against former teammate Sarah Pauly of the Racers.

Pauly sent the Bandits down in order for the final two innings of the game to secure the 6-0 shutout victory for the Racers. She allowed just five Bandits runners on base while recording three strikeouts. Edwards took the loss for the Bandits after allowing five runs in the first on three hits.

The Bandits managed two hits against Pauly in the top of the fifth, with singles by Amber Patton and Brenna Moss, but were unable to capitalize.
