Apology not enough for betrayal of public
Reading your headlines of Thursday, June 18, "Mundelein trustee apologizes after DUI arrest": How many times do our public elected officials ask for forgiveness when they have been caught with a wrongdoing of some capacity? What an unacceptable state of affairs our local, state and federal politicians are in today.
I suggest Mr. Norton to locate a dictionary and look up the definition of the following three words.
1. trust*ee, noun: an individual person given control or powers of administration of property in trust with a legal obligation to administer for the people
2. re*spon*si*bil*i*ty, noun: the state or fact of being accountable.
3. pub*lic trust, adjective: The trust the public places in its officials
Mr. Norton, all I can say regarding your situation is it's time to retire from politics. Apology not accepted.
