Lake Villa GOP Club scholarship

A Grayslake North High School graduate has been announced as the recipient of an annual college scholarship from the Lake Villa Township Republican Club. Officials said Kayla Switalia of Lake Villa will receive $1,000 from the club. She will attend the University of Michigan and major in psychology or a related field in neuroscience. Switalia was an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction and the highest on the honor roll from 2011-15, as well as an all-conference softball player. Her other activities included officiating soccer matches for the Lindenhurst Park District and volunteering at Feed My Starving Children.
