Store announcement could save lives
I would like to make a request of ALL stores to please make an hourly public service announcement reminding customers/shoppers not to leave their pets (or children for that matter) in their cars on days when the temperature is above 80 degrees.
Even at 70 to 75 degrees outside, the inside of the car can really get hot in a very short time, even with the windows partially open and parked in the shade.
It would only take 15 seconds to say, "Attention customers. (Name of store) would like to kindly remind you, please do not leave your pets or children in your car while you shop. Your car can get dangerously hot in a matter of minutes. Thank you for your cooperation."
If stores would make a habit of announcing this every hour, an animal's or child's life may be saved this summer. A 15 second announcement is not too much to ask.
