Dogs get their own Blackhawks parade

While their owners crane their necks for a glimpse of the Stanley Cup at the Blackhawks victory parade Thursday, the dogs of the A Closer Bond Dog School in Palatine are going to be leading a parade of their own.

Danielle Karlson-Perrot, the school's special events coordinator, said the dogs' owners are encouraged to dress them in red and black for the event.

The doggy parade will start at 1:30 p.m. in the agility yard of the school, 42 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The public is welcome to attend.
