Buffalo Grove is wasting our money

The village of Buffalo Grove wasting our money.

In the late 1980s the village started a town center at Buffalo Grove and Lake Cook roads. It never worked out, all that time and money wasted. What is left is a strip mall with lots of empty storefronts and failed grocery stores.

I still can't figure out how much money they wasted on making a Buffalo Creek Nature Preserve on the creek banks behind my condo, about four years ago. They spent thousands on this project; they even made a video about it. The village planted shrubs, decorative grass and plants by the creek.

They didn't take care of all that was planted, weeds grew all around it, and most of it died. Then the creek flooded and killed the rest of it. All these plants eroded the creek banks, and now creek banks and trees are all falling in the creek.

Our village wasted all that time and money on this project, and now we only have weeds that are filled with mosquitoes, insects, ticks and the village refuses to cut them. The blacktop walking trail by the creek, just full of dandelions and the village never sprayed or cut them - they just let them grow and now the seeds are blowing all over my back yard.

I have bad allergies and all this is a serious problem for me and others.

In the Buffalo Grove Village News for May/June, the village is warning people about having tall weeds in the village that carry diseases.

The newest project was another town center built on part of the golf course and by the police station, and the other buildings over there. It failed. Look at all the money, and time wasted on this project.

What comes next?
