Author James Kennedy visits Westgate students

Author James Kennedy recently had a successful visit with students at Westgate Elementary School in Arlington Heights.

Author of the book "The Order of Odd-Fish," Kennedy visited with students in third through fifth grades and told stories about teaching, writing, failing and trying again.

"The teachers haven't laughed that hard in years. I've had such positive feedback from students and parents alike," said Kristie Cerniglia, Westgate's LMC director.

Kennedy's author visit was organized by Julie Jurgens at Arlington Heights Memorial Library to continue an ongoing collaboration with all the Arlington Heights schools.

Parents were able to pre-order signed books before the visit, but a few books were available after the event as well.
