Backyard sanctuary, or is it?
Our backyard is our sanctuary in the summer months. However, I am somewhat embarrassed when entertaining. Our patio and yard are very large, so in order to fill the space, we have a few very old, mismatched tables and chairs.
Over the years the chairs have fallen apart and the remaining chairs drip rust colored water onto our feet! We have one table with an umbrella and one shady area, but the center of the patio is unshaded and can get very warm.
We love to entertain and would love ideas on how to fill this large patio with comfortable furniture that is not falling apart! We've had guests tip over in chairs that have bent all the way to the ground!
Any ideas you can give us would be greatly appreciated.
Design suggestions by Viking Ski and Patio
Let's start by addressing the unshaded area.
We suggest an 11-foot cantilever umbrella that could rotate between the dining area and a conversation area.
A padded sling set that seats eight, such as the pictured Montruex set by Tropitone, would be a very comfortable way to enjoy a meal outdoors.
After your dinner, relax in a curved-cushion sofa and or two cushioned swivel lounge chairs around a 42-inch gas fire pit. Pictured is the Tropitone Ravello curved sofa with fire pit.
