Mmmm, sweet beer (and cider): Hundreds attend Lombard Ale Fest

Hundreds of beer aficionados gathered Saturday in Lombard's Lilacia Park to taste some new brews and ciders during the second annual Lombard Ale Fest.

The selection of more than 100 beers and ciders included picks from local businesses, such as Lombard-based Flesk Brewing and Noon Whistle Brewing, along with hoppy favorites from neighboring states, such as Michigan and Wisconsin, and as far away as Colorado and Hawaii.

Home brewers, who put out samples of unique beers such as a mango wheat and a raspberry ale, were a new addition to this year's event.

Proceeds from the festival benefit the Glenbard East Boosters Club and Lombard Town Centre.
