Kairos Family Center turns 40

The Kairos Family Center, which was founded in 1975, recently held its annual meeting at Emmett's Restaurant in West Dundee where two retiring board members were honored: Frank Celarek, 24 years of service, and Dale Kleinschmidt, 17 years of service, as part of the celebration.

In addition, area businesses including Country Donuts, Alexander's Restaurant, Elgin Public House, Zanies Comedy Club, and Pheasant Run Resort all donated prizes to support one of the local fund-raising events.

Executive director Susan Schwab oversees the organizations operations located in the lower level of the First Presbyterian Church, 240 Standish St. in Elgin.
