One Arlington Hts. garage reopens, another closes
One public parking garage in Arlington Heights is reopening, but another is closing as the village's summer maintenance work continues.
The municipal parking garage, adjacent to Arlington Heights village hall, will reopen Friday morning after more than a month of construction to boost the structural integrity of the 30-year-old facility at the corner of Sigwalt Street and Arlington Heights Road.
Starting Monday, fee parking will not be allowed in the North garage at the northwest corner of Miner Street and Arlington Heights Road. During the work on that garage, there will be limited permit parking available on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to a village notice. The North garage work is expected to be completed by the end of July.
The work is part of a $2 million rehab for the four village-owned garages being phased in over this summer and next.
