Fort Wayne snaps Cougars' four-game win streak

FORT WAYNE, Ind.- The Kane County Cougars (30-29) dropped the series opener to the Fort Wayne Tin Caps (25-33) Wednesday evening in a 4-2 loss at Parkview Field.

Stryker Trahan continued his hot bat and gave the Cougars the early lead with his third home run in his last four at-bats. After Marty Herum led off the second inning with a walk, Trahan belted a two-run shot for his 11th blast of the year and a 2-0 Cougars' advantage.

Brad Keller (2-7) tossed six strong innings, but gave up a three-run home run in the fourth inning to Fort Wayne's Chase Jensen. It the first homer allowed by Keller in almost two months.

The Tin Caps grabbed an insurance run the next inning on a sacrifice fly.

The Cougars got two perfect innings of relief work from Jency Solis and Tom Jameson. The Cougars and Tin Caps continue the series on Thursday.
