Free hearing tests in Libertyville June 19-20
The Libertyville Lions Club will sponsor a free hearing screening from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, June 19 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, in front of the Cook Park Library, on Cook Avenue just west of Milwaukee Avenue.
The service has been provided the past eight years during the Libertyville Days festival. Anyone can take the screening, but those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or have written parental consent.
An estimated 720,000 Illinois residents are considered hearing-impaired. Hearing loss takes many forms, from feeling the sound is too low to having trouble understanding various pitches or sounds.
Screening takes a few minutes and those who fail are referred to hearing professionals for evaluation and treatment.
