Vintage Auto Fest highlights chrome in Glen Ellyn's history
For those who enjoy their history delivered with a bit of polished chrome, the Glen Ellyn Historical Society presents it second annual Vintage Auto Fest.
The vintage car show runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in the backyard of Stacy's Tavern Museum and the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn.
The highlight of the show will be the three Pierce-Arrow autos on display amid a selection of vintage vehicles.
Enthusiasts will want to check out the free talks on vintage automobiles and Glen Ellyn auto history that will be offered in the history center throughout the day.
In addition to the vintage autos, Mobile Pizza Oven will provide refreshments, and a bake sale will feature homemade pies, cookies and other pastries.
Stacy's Corners Store in the history center will be open for browsing and buying, and free mini-tours of Stacy's Tavern Museum will be offered between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m.
The Blackhawk Chapter of the Studebaker Driver's Club and the Packards of Chicagoland are assisting with this free event. For information, visit glenellynhistory.org.
