Dispose of worn flags in Des Plaines
Des Plaines veterans will ceremoniously dispose of worn, unserviceable American flags on Flag Day, June 14, at Lake Park. Worn flags may be dropped off at Oakton Place, 1660 Oakton Place, or the American Legion, 1291 Oakwood Ave. The VFW will also provide an order form for a new flag. The flag burning ceremony, in cooperation with the Des Plaines Park District, will take place at Lake Park, 1015 E. Howard Ave., starting at 2 p.m.
