Get respect from police by respecting the law
President Obama's "Task Force on 21st Century Policing" released the following in response to rioting in Ferguson, Missouri, and elsewhere.
They recommend "to stop providing military-style equipment to local police departments, create a guardian rather than warrior mindset, implement policies that reflect community values and better training of police officers."
I have an alternative. Don't speed if you don't want a ticket, don't burn a building if you don't want to get arrested on charges of arson and don't attack a police officer if you don't want to get shot.
Good relations with the police begin with respecting and obeying the law.
