City welcomes your feedback on issues at June 15 meeting
The city of St. Charles invites residents to hear what data has been collected to date and to offer their views on current and future issues impacting the town. Information that was gathered from community stakeholders and city staff as part of the city's strategic planning process will be presented at the city council government operations committee meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 15, in council chambers, 2 E. Main St.
Last October, the city began the process of updating its 2008-2014 strategic plan, which provides a consensus road map for the future of St. Charles. Working with Sikich LLP, the city gathered information from city leaders and community stakeholders through:
• Data from the 2013 Resident Priority Survey;
• Interviews with key community and city stakeholders;
• Results from eight focus groups composed of a cross-section of community, business and city stakeholders.
“We received great feedback from a variety of individuals regarding the city's past performance and potential future initiatives,” said City Administrator Mark Koenen. “We appreciate the time and effort of all those who have participated. We also want to open this process up to the entire community to hear their opinions for making St. Charles the best it can be.”
The June 15 meeting is the first of three strategic planning events scheduled. A workshop on June 23 will explore mission and guiding principles and a June 27 workshop will focus on the vision and future of St. Charles.
