Arlington Heights Police Academy graduates Class No. 21

Class No. 21 of the Arlington Heights Citizen Police Academy held it's graduation ceremony in the Council Chamber of village hall on May 19. The academy graduation was attended by Mayor Thomas Hayes, Chief of Police Gerald Mourning and for the first time, Village Manager Randy Recklaus.

The ceremony recognized 22 citizen students and followed a demonstration of search and apprehension techniques by the police department's three K-9 officers and K-9 partners, Marco and Max.

To date and since the inception of Arlington Heights Citizen Police Academy activities in 2005, the Arlington Heights Police Department has graduated over 500 village residents and business leaders from academy programs. Applications for the fall session of the Arlington Heights Citizen Police Academy are now available through the village website at www.vah.com and through the police department's Information Desk.

Questions concerning Citizen Police Academy activities and the application process may be directed to Officer Robert Kostka in the Community Services Bureau at (847) 368-5390.
