New Taco Bell opens on village-owned land in Rosemont

A new Taco Bell has opened on village-owned land along Higgins Road in Rosemont.

The opening of the fast food restaurant at 9463 W. Higgins Road this week comes nearly two years after the village board approved a land lease agreement with the chain. Taco Bell is paying the village $80,000 annually to lease the land from the village, plus a percentage if sales exceed $1.5 million a year.

A new building was constructed after a village-owned building, housing a diner, pizzeria, deli, sub shop, and apartments for village employees, was demolished.
