Church to celebrate services outside this summer

Calvary Episcopal Church, 222 S. Batavia Ave. in Batavia, will host three Mass on the Grass events this summer.

The first Mass on the Grass will be at 10:15 a.m. June 14, weather permitting.

Anyone in the Fox River Valley community is welcome to attend, parishioners and non-parishioners alike. If interested, bring a chair or blanket to sit on. There will be seating on the sidewalk for anyone who does not want to sit on the grass.

After the service, those attending are welcome to stay for lunch. Grilled food will be provided; you may bring a side dish or dessert to share. Activities will be available for kids and kids at heart.

There is no charge; freewill donations will be accepted.

The dates for subsequent Mass on the Grass events will be July 12 and Aug. 9.
