Batavia farmers market opens for 20th year

Batavia MainStreet invites you to celebrate 20 years with the Batavia Farmers Market this season.

The award-winning outdoor market will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays, June 6 to Oct. 17, in downtown Batavia. The first 100 patrons will receive a complimentary reusable bag.

This year, the market features up to 30 seasonal and weekly vendors where you can live life local with a variety of produce, eggs, meat, cheese, flowers, music and more. Come out and meet the two newest members to the farmers market team, T.J. Sennstrom and Karla Thomas.

"I look forward to serving and supporting the farmers and crafters who provide healthy and local goods to our town," Sennstrom said.

During the market, join Batavia United Way and friends for bi-weekly activities for the kids including: Water Street Studios "make & take" project; Somonetti Studios hosting a dress-up photo shoot with props; Katie Pillar performance art; face painting with Baird & Warner; radar-timed speed kick experience with the Batavia High School Girls Soccer; activities with Tri City Family Services, Sci Tech and Chick Fil A.

Then, every third Saturday the market will feature the Artisan Collective pop-up market, offering a chance to shop for handmade items from local artists and designers.
