Bandits shut out Rebellion

Sara Moulton got the ball for the Bandits in game two, and much like her teammate Kirsten Verdun the night before, shut out the Pennsylvania Rebellion by a score of 5-0.

The Rebellion sent Emma Johnson into the circle, and both pitchers managed to keep any runs off the board through the first two innings, but it was the Bandits who finally broke through in the third. In a bases loaded situation, rookie Brenna Moss stepped to the plate and slapped a double into left field to put the Bandits up by two. Tammy Williams followed that up with a base hit of her own to extend the lead by four.

Verdun added an insurance run in the fourth as RT Cantillo drew a walk to get on base with Verdun doubling to right center, bringing Cantillo home for the 5-0 lead.

Neither team would score for the remainder of the game with Moulton picking up the complete game shutout victory, recording five strikeouts with just seven hits allowed.

The Bandits and Rebellion will be back in action tomorrow at 1:35 p.m.
