No injuries in Barrington house fire
Firefighters quickly put out a small fire that broke out Friday afternoon in a Barrington home, officials said.
Smoke was reported around 12:30 p.m. at a single family home on the 700 block of Prairie Avenue, firefighters said. When crews arrived, they found a small fire in the wall of the crawl space where plumbers were working with a torch and discovered the timber had ignited, authorities added.
Firefighters were on the scene in four minutes and had the fire under control in less than 20 minutes. Nobody was hurt, and the house was still habitable.
Barrington firefighters received assistance from Barrington Countryside, Long Grove, Cary, Fox River Grove, Palatine and Palatine Rural departments.
