Four injured in crash Saturday on I-290
Four people were taken to Elmhurst Hospital after a rollover crash on I-290 Saturday afternoon, Elmhurst fire officials said.
The two-car crash happened at 1:45 p.m. on eastbound I-290 just west of York Road, Elmhurst Fire Battalion Chief David Winker said.
The two right lanes were blocked while emergency workers helped the victims, who were in vehicles that came to rest in the ditch on the right side of the road, Winker said.
"The driver was trapped with the car on its side, so they were able to get her out of the back," he said. "There was nothing life threatening for anybody."
All lanes of traffic were reopened by 3:30 p.m., Illinois State Police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
