Catholic reform group to discuss 'Where We Go from Here'
West Suburban Call To Action, a reform group in the Catholic Church, has invited back the Rev. Bob Colaresi, O. Carm. for a discussion about "Where We Go From Here" from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at First Congregational Church, 22 E. Benton St., Naperville.
Colaresi launched the WSCTA series with a presentation on primacy of conscience and the role of the laity in January 2014.
Following his talk and discussion, Colaresi will celebrate the Eucharist. After, light refreshments, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be served. All are welcome. A donation of $10 is suggested.
Wrapping up its second year exploring issues and encouraging a more inclusive Catholic community, WSCTA is inspired by the response from the many participants who have attended events featuring internationally known activist for justice Roy Bourgeois, a panel of advocates for LGBTQ inclusion in the church, a conversation with married priests, and a viewing of the documentary "Band of Sisters" describing the work women do on behalf of the poor and marginalized in society. The group also welcomed the Rev. Barbara Zeman, a Roman Catholic priest who shared her vocation journey and celebrated liturgy.
WSCTA is an inclusive community that strives to reform the Catholic Church from the inside. Its mission is to educate, inspire and prayerfully motivate Catholics to act for social justice, peace and equality. It is a branch of Call To Action National.
