Lincolnshire schools do well at national science competition

Two teams from Lincolnshire did well last Saturday at the 31st Annual Science Olympiad National Tournament at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Stevenson High School took 10th among high schools competing, and Daniel Wright Junior High School took fifth among middle schools. In all, 120 middle and high schools were competing.

"These winning teams exemplify the best America has to offer in science, technology, engineering and math," Gerard Putz, Science Olympiad president and co-founder, said in a news release. "We are proud of their achievements and know their schools and communities will welcome them home like champions."

More information on the competition is at soinc.org.
