See damsels, dragons and darners at Burnidge Forest Preserve
Damsels, dragons and darners, oh my!
Learn all about damselflies, dragonflies and darners on this guided hike as you "hunt" for them in their native habitat.
Damselflies, dragonflies and darners are key species in our natural area, helping control harmful insects like mosquitoes.
Take your children on a guided hike through the woods as you search for these fascinating insects, learn about the vast differences between them, and observe some specimens up close!
All ages are welcome to attend this family event, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Organized groups must schedule a separate tour for their group.
The program will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Burnidge Forest Preserve, 14N273 Coombs Road, Elgin.
The registration fee is $2 per person. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.
