Softball: Lake County roundup

Mundelein 7, Stevenson 5: Maria DeVito hit an inside-the-park homer and finished 2-for-3 for the visiting Mustangs in the North Suburban Lake softball game Monday.

Jordyn West was also 2-for-3 for Mundelein (25-7, 8-3). Karlee Busscher and Meghan Ehemann tripled, and Kaitlyn Griffin doubled. Nicole Parney went the distance in the circle, allowing 2 earned runs, striking out and walking two.

Stevenson got an inside-the-park home run from Taylor Koenigs and triples from Emma Oriatti and Trish Porzycki. Alana Labaschin went 2-for-3.

Wauconda 9, Lakes 2: Wauconda pounded out 13 hits and got out to a 5-0 first-inning lead in cruising to the win. Anna Wisniewski went 3-for-3 at the plate while pitcher Kayla Wedl went 4-for-5. Wedl also racked up 8 strikeouts in seven innings. Molly Dietz had 2 hits for Lakes. Wauconda is now 23-10 on the season and 11-1 in the North Suburban Prairie.

Antioch 9, Grant 3: Jill Foote, Hannah Skoog and Taylor Schiltz each had 2 hits for Antioch. Both of Foote's hits were doubles. Winning pitcher Stephanie Bonaduidi had 6 strikeouts and just 1 walk in four innings. Antioch is now 23-7 on the season.
