Aurora woman died 'helping people and being a Marine,' brother says
A Marine from Aurora was among the six service members killed last week when their helicopter went down in the mountains of Nepal while conducting earthquake relief operations, the Department of Defense confirmed Sunday. Cpl. Sara A. Medina, 23, a combat photographer with Marine Corps Installations Pacific, Okinawa, Japan, was killed in the May 12 crash east of Kathmandu. Her brother, Luis Medina, said Sunday that his sister died doing what she loved. "She died how she lived, helping people and being a Marine," Luis Medina said. Full story.

Carpentersville settles lawsuit over birthday party arrests
A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit accusing three Carpentersville police officers of lying to justify arrests they made at a 5-year-old's birthday party in October 2009. A missed opportunity for Blackhawks
Go ahead and blame David Rundblad if you want to for the Hawks' 4-1 loss to Anaheim in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. The Hawks' defenseman was certainly a big factor in giving up the Ducks' first 2 goals Sunday. But pointing the finger at a 24-year-old making the first playoff start of his career isn't exactly fair.
