Heyman's homer lifts Cougars

APPPLETON, Wis.- Grant Heyman's 2-run homer proved to be the difference as the Kane County Cougars edged the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 2-1 Friday at Fox Cities Stadium.

Cougars starter Markus Solbach (3-2) allowed 1 run in 6 innings with 5 strikeouts and no walks. Relievers Jency Solis and Steve Hathaway each worked a scoreless inning and Zac Curtis tossed a perfect ninth for his fifth save in 5 opportunities.

The series continues today at 6:35 p.m. with the Cougars starting Brent Jones (1-3, 3.10 ERA).
