Lindenhurst woman graduates Unity College in Maine

UNITY, Maine - Unity College, America's Environmental College, graduated 123 students on Saturday, May 9, sending them forward as the next generation of environmental leaders during a ceremony at its campus in central Maine.

From Illinois, Shannon R. Gillespie, of Lindenhurst, joined the Unity College Class of 2015.

Author Terry Tempest Williams gave the keynote address.

Unity College proudly celebrates its 50th year in 2015. The first institution of higher education in the nation to divest from fossil fuel investments, Unity is committed to educating the next generation of environmental professionals.
