Christian Liberty Students Thrive at State Science Fair

Five students from Christian Liberty Academy presented at the Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Exposition on May 2, 2015. Middle school and high school students gathered from all over Illinois for this annual event, which took place on the campus of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. From CLA Titus Bennett, Rebekah Bouvier, Ellie DeRidder, and Grace Garlick each received the Gold Award, while Joseph Liao won the the Bronze Award. Their projects involved research in behavioral science, botany, material science, consumer science, and chemistry, respectively. The students' teacher, Bob Stack, acknowledged that they had an "excellent showing." Yet he was not the only one who recognized their performance. Because of the students' achievements, CLA earned the Dr. Lyell J.Thomas Memorial Award for "supporting outstanding student research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics."
