Softball: Fox Valley roundup Tuesday, May 5

Jacobs 6, Cary-Grove 5: Emily Borg went 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI and Teaghan Richman was 3-for-4 with a double as the Golden Eagles (11-14, 3-4) notched a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Also adding to Jacobs' 16-hit attack were Taylor Belo (2-for-4), Sarah Murray (2-for-4, 2B), Kerri Healy (RBI), Alexis Addante (2-for-4, 3B) and Haley Lonigro (RBI). Caitlyn Adams (2-for-4, 2B, RBI), Sarah Purpura (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) and Grace Pilz (2-for-3, 3 RBI) led the Trojans (6-13, 2-6). Addante was the winning pitcher and Adams took the loss.

Waubonsie Valley 6, South Elgin 1: Stacy Bellack's single was South Elgin's only hit off Waubonsie's Shannon Hohman (14 Ks) in this Upstate Eight Valley game. Karli Dobler suffered the loss for the Storm (9-13, 7-7).

St. Charles East 16, Elgin 3: In the Upstate Eight River, Sabrina Stockman went 2-for-3 for the Maroons (3-20, 2-12). Jessica Rago had an RBI for Elgin and Jenna Lombardo was the losing pitcher.

Hampshire 4, Woodstock 0: Haley Widmayer was the winning pitcher for the Whip-Purs (10-13, 4-2) in the FVC Fox.
