Two-car crash on Route 120 injures driver
Grayslake police are investigating the cause of a two-car crash on Route 120 Sunday afternoon that sent one car down an embankment near Grays Lake and injured its driver.
Battalion Chief Jim Weidman of the Grayslake Fire Department said the car was in no danger of plummeting into the lake because it crashed into a line of trees just east of the intersection of Route 120 and Belle Court.
Weidman said the car ended up down the embankment about 2½ feet off the road before coming to a stop. The crash scene was about 50 feet south of three lakefront houses and 200 feet south of the lake.
The driver of the car that ended up off the embankment was sent to the Grayslake Emergency Center for treatment, Weidman said. He said he could not elaborate on the driver's injuries because of privacy laws.
It appears the crash was caused by one car sideswiping another, Weidman said. A Grayslake police spokesman said the department is investigating the cause of the crash and no charges had been filed.
