New Hanover Park trustee sworn in May 7

On May 7, the Hanover Park village board will swear in its newest member, Herbert Porter Jr., a 32-year resident of the village who was elected April 7. He replaces Trustee Jenni Konstanzer, who will step down from the village board and onto the Hanover Park park board, where she was elected. Porter works in sales management in the areas of insurance, communications and transportation services. He became an ordained clergyman in 1990 and as a two‐time cancer survivor who volunteers for the American Cancer Society. He is the village board liaison to Hanover Park's Sister Cities Committee and coaches the Hanover Park Hurricanes and the park district's girls basketball program. The board meeting begins at 7 p.m.
