Softball: Lake County roundup

Kenzie Sancken hit 2 home runs and drove in 4 runs, as Grant's softball team beat visiting Round Lake 11-1 in North Suburban Prairie Division action Tuesday.

Sancken, Erin Bengstan and Maddie Nawreight each had 2 hits for the Bulldogs, while Hannah McCall pitched a five-inning complete game, allowing only 1 hit, a single to Raven Nicoline.

Vernon Hills 13, Lakes 10: Dani Comitor and Anna Cirone both went 3-for-5 to lead the Cougars to the North Suburban Prairie win.

Comitor doubled and knocked in 2 runs.

Vernon Hills also received 2 hits apiece from Sami Saliba, Rose Ferolo (2 RBI) and Dana Meline.

Karlie Rotunno had a double for Lakes, and Emily Marison was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI. Cassidy Schaar and Molly Dietz both had 2 hits for the Eagles.

Lake Park 9, Antioch 3: Deighton Butenschoen had a double for the Sequoits in their nonconference loss.

Hannah Skoog was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI for Antioch (15-4).

Huntley 10, Grayslake Central 1: Teagan Truskowski had the only RBI for the Rams in their Fox Valley Conference loss.
