First Presbyterian Church Partners With Samaritan Counseling Center
First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights has begun a partnership with Samaritan Counseling Center to meet the need for counseling services in the community. In a confidential setting at the church, families, couples, and individuals work with Samaritan counselors to process grief, anxiety, depression, marital issues, and conflict in a safe place that fosters discovery, healing, and growth.
Samaritan Counseling Center's therapists are licensed, certified, and theologically informed. They are trained to treat the whole person-mind, body and spirit. Two therapists are accepting appointments at First Presbyterian.
Sarah C. Greene, MA, LCPC, MS, NCEP, focuses on the treatment of anxiety, depression, motivation, addiction, athletic/sport performance, anger management, growth and life transitions, and healthy lifestyle changes. She uses various techniques in her work, with a particular emphasis on education, behavior modification, goal-setting, exercise and eating habits, and how the mind and body affect each other to help or hinder progress toward therapeutic goals. Greene has a special interest and experience with the mind-body connection as well as working with teenagers and young adults.
Michele Gaspar, MA, focuses on the treatment of attachment issues and patterns throughout the life cycle, work-life balance in adults, addictions, managing chronic illness, and working through life transitions including career paths, retirement, and death or divorce. Gaspar provides counseling to adolescents and adults (individuals and couples).
